National Institutional Ranking Framework

Savitribai Phule Pune University is on a downward trend on National Institutional Ranking Framework 2025, The university ranked highest on 16th spot and now it has fallen to 91st stop.

Key reasons behind this drop is stated as less number of faculty members. Retirement of senior professors and not sufficient addition of substitutes impacted FSR (Faculty to Student Ratio).

As per a published report by NIRF, the number of faculty members entered is only 653.

National education policy has added more strain in the situation by introducing policy which has increased new student enrolment.

In addition there is a noticeable drop in placement success, which also can be one of the main factors for this downfall.

SPPU has strong Research Funding, good social inclusion and Good Infrastructure, which is a positive factor and needs more attention to uptrend and maintain ranking.

This drop has clearly shown indication to improve placement situation along with improving FSR.
